Abuyog, Leyte is known for their very lively Buyogan Festival which has won many festival events. During the past few years, the people of Abuyog have depended on the Rural Bank of Dulag (Abuyog Branch) for their immediate banking needs. For other Abuyogons who prefer well established banks, the larger banks in Tacloban can serve their banking needs. Unfortunately, town folks find it very tiring and expensive to go to Tacloban every time they need to visit the bank. On a positive note, Abuyog is about to expand its options with the addition of the First Consolidated Bank to the banking institutions in Abuyog.
The First Consolidated Bank was founded back in 1982 in the Province of Bohol, and it now has 14 independent consolidated banks. First Consolidated Banks is known to be one of the leading private development banks in the Philippines. Its investment capital adequacy percentage is higher than the top five commercial banks. The bank serves its shareholders with profitable and well provided adequate returns. Recently, First Consolidated has 53 branches nationwide and is scheduled to open more branches in numerous parts of Visayas, Mindanao and Luzon.
Abuyog, Leyte is lucky to have another banking institutions within their midst. Coming this March 08, 2012, the First Consolidated Bank will be finally opening its doors to Abuyognons. It will be convenient for the people to have their bank transactions and the people of the town can save money instead of going to Cities such as Tacloban, Ormoc and Baybay.
